The Kids Intelligent Detection Subject (KiDS) or also known as CPD Dummy, is a validation tool specifically designed to replicate the natural breathing movements, body size, and shape of a young infant (newborns to 2-year-olds). This advanced dummy serves as a validation tool for assessing the accuracy and reliability of child presence detection technologies in vehicles.
The KiDS-CPD dummy is portable and can be reliably detected by various CPD sensing technologies regardless of its position within a vehicle. It is engineered to simulate realistic breathing patterns, adhering to the requirements outlined in the ASEAN NCAP protocols. By mimicking these infant-specific characteristics, the dummy ensures that automotive safety systems are rigorously tested under conditions that closely resemble real-life scenarios, enhancing the protection of young children in vehicles.
